Vote for change on June 3!
We are a slate of experienced organizers and activists, running together to transform the Democratic Party from the ground up – starting with the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee, the local arm of the Democratic Party. Democrats will make history in 2008. Let’s turn this moment into a movement for progressive change in 2009 and beyond!
Alameda County has the highest proportion of registered Democrats in California – we should have an active, visible local Democratic Party. Strong organization here can be the key to electing Democrats to statewide offices and ensuring passage of the issues we care about. To make this a reality, the Grassroots Progressives slate will:
- Work to increase voter registration and turnout
- Organize neighborhood leaders at the precinct level
- Recruit, train, and support qualified progressive candidates for local office
- Make the state Party more progressive and more transparent
We will also push the Democratic Party and elected officials to:
- End the occupation of Iraq
- Provide affordable health care for all Californians
- Address the climate crisis
- Defend a woman’s right to choose
- Support campaign finance reform
- Ensure a living wage and the right to organize
- Make sure every vote is counted
